What I believe is that all human beings are spiritual beings, whether or not they know it or care about it. I grew up believing that I was on a spiritual journey and that I should pursue my spiritual growth. I first read about Edgar Cayce when I was about 17. It was a book called There is a River about the life of Edgar Cayce. In that book it discussed reincarnation and how all of our experiences on earth are recorded on a “river of time.” I like looking out at the universe from mountain tops where it is clear and bright and in my face; just how vast and brightly lit the universe really is. I do not understand it well myself, but apparently astronomers can look out into space in such a way as to see back in time toward the big bang. .
I am clearly of the opinion that the planet earth is a spaceship and we are all on a ride through the universe traveling at around 65,000 miles per hour through open space. That applies to the movement of our solar system along the milky way. Our planet actually travels through about 1.6 million miles of open space each day (this speed and distantance is a slippery number) As we travel through space, our position on the planet will bear a certain relationship with the rest of the universe depending on your latitude, longitude and the time of day that one takes their first breath. Imagine that our first breaths will be taken in a certain relationship with the sun, moon. other planets, and all of the bazillions of other solar objects, which changes moment by moment. We all take a first breath when we are born; that breath will have a unique relationship with all of those many variants that will be unique in the universe.We will continue at the rate of about 22,000 breaths a day (per Google) for the rest of our lives. The latitude and longitude on the planet earth of that first breath are unique in their relationship to the rest of the universe. The universe will never again return to that exact same position, or exactly duplicate the state of the relationship to astronomical phenomenon throughout the universe. The life that proceeds from that first breath is unique in the universe and connected to the physical universe in a linear, breath by heartbeat sort of way on one hand, and a timeless cosmic soul sort of way on the other hand.
